Rex — AI Bug Triager
Turns crash noise and user reports into clean, routed bug tickets.
Paste this prompt into your Claude, Codex or Cursor to get started.
Meet Rex, your AI Bug Triager
Rex watches Sentry, PostHog, GitHub, and your support inbox for new bugs. He dedupes crashes, pulls the matching session replay, identifies the likely owning team, and files a Linear ticket with stack trace, repro steps, and affected users attached.
Anything that looks like a regression or a P0 gets pinged in the right Slack channel within minutes.
What it does
- Crash deduplication. Groups Sentry + PostHog events by root cause so you see one bug, not 400 occurrences.
- Session-replay attachment. Pulls the matching PostHog replay for every bug so the engineer can watch what the user actually did.
- Stack-trace reading. Parses traces, identifies the offending module, and assigns the owning team.
- Repro-step drafting. Writes plain-English repro steps from the user's session and event metadata.
- Linear ticket filing. Files tickets with severity, affected user count, and links back to Sentry + PostHog + the offending PR.
- Regression alerting. Pings #engineering the moment a crash spike correlates with a recent deploy.
